My Poetry and I
One thing that most definitely defines me is my poetry. To me, there's nothing more beautiful than turning your thoughts, feelings, dreams, and inspirations into a beautifully haunting piece of poetry. When writing poetry, you are able to introduce yourself through the ink of your rhythms and rhymes. You are able to paint a picture in one's mind through the words you choose. Finally, you're able to view the world from a different perspective. When reading my poetry, I hope you're able to see a bit of the world through my eyes, and I hope the picture comes as clear to you as it did to me.

Words
Forever trapped within the page
They hold a story in a smoky haze
Created by a lover's hand
Screaming the secrets of a long lost land
Only those who listen are able to hear
And the smoky haze soon becomes clear
They hold a story in a smoky haze
Created by a lover's hand
Screaming the secrets of a long lost land
Only those who listen are able to hear
And the smoky haze soon becomes clear
Subway
Destinations
Anticipations
Getting where you want to go
Not caring where or when you've gone
But only what you want and so
The underground subway moves on
Pain and grief in his dark eyes
That he doesn't bother to disguise
But no one cares and never will
Hopelessly impatient till
They reach there destination at last
Until they get where they want to go
Where they forget when and where they've gone
But never what they want and so
The underground subway moves on
Where Dreamers Go
Like the wind I fly
I soar up high and touch the sky
With fields beneath me of amber grain
Yearning for the summer rain
Stardust sprinkles in my hair
Clocks and stars float everywhere
A choir filled with hopeful song
"It won't be long, it won't be long."
Frozen in their spoken words
My world becomes a sparkling blur
I wake up on the cold wood floor
Darkness laughs as I beg for more
It pins me down like a sharpened knife
As it drags me back to real life
I shall return, that I know
Back to where the dreamers go
Back to where I know I belong
It won't be long
It won't be long
Please Come Back
Please come back
I need you here
I'll get so sad
Alone I fear
It's not the same
Without your voice
I wish you didn't make that choice
But now you're there
Away from me
It hurts a lot
Why can't you see?
Please come back
I need you so
And when you hold me in your arms
Never ever left me go
I need you here
I'll get so sad
Alone I fear
It's not the same
Without your voice
I wish you didn't make that choice
But now you're there
Away from me
It hurts a lot
Why can't you see?
Please come back
I need you so
And when you hold me in your arms
Never ever left me go
Where'd You Go
Where'd you go
I miss you so
It's like you've built up a wall
Do you miss me at all?
What did I do wrong?
Am I the reason that you're gone?
Should I just give up on you?
I don't know what to do!
I hate that you're gone
It's like you don't even care
I have one last question
Where'd you go?
Where?
I miss you so
It's like you've built up a wall
Do you miss me at all?
What did I do wrong?
Am I the reason that you're gone?
Should I just give up on you?
I don't know what to do!
I hate that you're gone
It's like you don't even care
I have one last question
Where'd you go?
Where?
Everyone
Everyone wants to go where no one else has gone
And everyone wants to be where they truly belong
Everyone evnentually wants a break from the pain of life
Just sever all of their toils and trouble like a sharpened knife
In the end, everyone wants to be the best
And just do something, anything to stand out from the rest
But it's only the ones that make the right choices that go anywhere
And fufill all their dreams and destinies while being fair and square
The ones who truly love the world are the ones that care
Though everyone knows in their soul what they ought to do
I'ts only the ones with a good spirit and sense that make their dreams come true
Wandering
My feet seem to know where they're going
I'll trust them to do what's right
They don't seem to want to be slowing
But I'm not putting up a fight
I'll trust them to do what's right
They don't seem to want to be slowing
But I'm not putting up a fight
Shoe Obituary
My tired shoes
Have done me well
My tired shoes
Must say farewell
My tired shoes
A piece of my heart
My tired shoes
Don'tw ant to part
My tired shoes
I love them so
My tired shoes
I must let go
My tired shoes
A beat up brown
My tired shoes
Never let me down
My tired shoes
Worn down to the toe
My tired shoes
I cannot show
My tired shoes
How I love them so
My tired shoes
Have said goodbye
My tired shoes
Are no longer mine
Have done me well
My tired shoes
Must say farewell
My tired shoes
A piece of my heart
My tired shoes
Don'tw ant to part
My tired shoes
I love them so
My tired shoes
I must let go
My tired shoes
A beat up brown
My tired shoes
Never let me down
My tired shoes
Worn down to the toe
My tired shoes
I cannot show
My tired shoes
How I love them so
My tired shoes
Have said goodbye
My tired shoes
Are no longer mine
Journey
I'm going on a journey
Soon I will be gone
I don't know where I'm going
And I don't know for how long
Soon I will be gone
I don't know where I'm going
And I don't know for how long
Let Me In
I know that when you look in the mirror you see a strange face
That you feel as if you don't belong anywhere or anyplace
I know at times you feel lost and alone
Though you have a roof over your head you don't have a home
Your battle to find and keep friends
Is one that will never end
But please know that I'll care for you
And you're never going to be alone, too
Though I can't give you a home I can give you my heart
And though I can't fight your battles I never will part
I'll hold your hand through thick and thin
All you have to do is let me in
That you feel as if you don't belong anywhere or anyplace
I know at times you feel lost and alone
Though you have a roof over your head you don't have a home
Your battle to find and keep friends
Is one that will never end
But please know that I'll care for you
And you're never going to be alone, too
Though I can't give you a home I can give you my heart
And though I can't fight your battles I never will part
I'll hold your hand through thick and thin
All you have to do is let me in
Closer To The Soul
My eyes; they are open windows
Taking in everything they see
And I realize that I am not the world
But simply that the world is me
I lean back as I give in
To a rush of sentimentality
It is here in this constant peace that I realize
All dreams can become reality
Taking in everything they see
And I realize that I am not the world
But simply that the world is me
I lean back as I give in
To a rush of sentimentality
It is here in this constant peace that I realize
All dreams can become reality
You Know Me Not
You know me not
For you forgot
That I have the right to grieve
Like I have the right to breathe
I am allowed to shed a tear
Or even cry out in fear
I cannot be perfect, you see
I pray you'll stop trying to change me
And realize it's deep within
That counts; not plastering on a grin
You know me not
For you forgot
That though I cry
There's a reason why
And I feel pain
Along with strain
I won't try to be perfect for you ever again
For you forgot
That I have the right to grieve
Like I have the right to breathe
I am allowed to shed a tear
Or even cry out in fear
I cannot be perfect, you see
I pray you'll stop trying to change me
And realize it's deep within
That counts; not plastering on a grin
You know me not
For you forgot
That though I cry
There's a reason why
And I feel pain
Along with strain
I won't try to be perfect for you ever again
Frozen In The Tide
Frozen in the tide
Hollowed out inside
Lost my way
And I may
Not get it back
Your love I lack
I need you to hear
Without you I'm in fear
Please come back to me
You'll find me lost in the sea
Frozen in the tide
Hollowed out inside
Calling for you to be
Right here next to me
Only then will my wounds heal
Only then will I ever feel
And not be frozen in the tide
Filled to the brim inside
With love for life and love for you
And I'll be free
From the sea
That held me captive, too
Hollowed out inside
Lost my way
And I may
Not get it back
Your love I lack
I need you to hear
Without you I'm in fear
Please come back to me
You'll find me lost in the sea
Frozen in the tide
Hollowed out inside
Calling for you to be
Right here next to me
Only then will my wounds heal
Only then will I ever feel
And not be frozen in the tide
Filled to the brim inside
With love for life and love for you
And I'll be free
From the sea
That held me captive, too
What's Hidden Beneath
There's more to me
Than meets the eye
A thousand thoughts
For every sigh
It's in my thoughts
That I freely roam
My imagination
Is my true home
Don't doubt the power
Of the brain
For it gives me relief
Again and again
Without my mind
And without my dreams
Never will I truly
Be
Than meets the eye
A thousand thoughts
For every sigh
It's in my thoughts
That I freely roam
My imagination
Is my true home
Don't doubt the power
Of the brain
For it gives me relief
Again and again
Without my mind
And without my dreams
Never will I truly
Be
